Huntington has Premier Savings and Relationship Savings[1]. Both come with low rates: Premier Savings with 0.01% APY and Relationship Savings with up to 0.06% APY.

  • Huntington Premier Savings: Has a $15 overdraft fee and a waivable $4 monthly fee. $50 minimum to open.
  • Huntington Relationship Savings: Has a $15 overdraft fee and a waivable $10 monthly fee. $2,500 minimum to open.

Huntington Premier Savings

Huntington Premier Savings has a 0.01% APY on all balances. It requires a $50 minimum opening deposit and has a maintenance fee of $4[2]. You can have it waived if you have a personal Huntington checking account.

It does have a $15 overdraft fee and a $3.50 fee for out-of-network ATM transactions[3]. But, you can easily access your money at a branch or ATM, or through their highly-rated mobile app.

Huntington Relationship Savings

Huntington Relationship Savings offers slightly better rates up to 0.06% APY. You get to waive the $10 monthly fee when you have any of these accounts:

  • Huntington Perks Checking
  • Huntington Platinum Perks Checking
  • Private Client Account

Otherwise, you need to maintain a $2,500 minimum to avoid it.[4]

It has an opening deposit requirement of $2,500, a $15 overdraft fee, and an out-of-network ATM charge of $3.50.[5] And, it comes with an ATM card and access to their mobile app.

Can You Lose Money with Huntington Savings?

No, you cannot lose money with either the Premier Savings or Relationship Savings account. Huntington Bank is FDIC-insured (Certificate #6560), so deposits are protected up to $250,000 per depositor, per ownership category.

Hence, you are guaranteed to get your money back should Huntington Bank ever fail or close.
