Sling TV
Sling TV is a popular streaming service provider. They do stream Malayalam movies and shows, and they currently offer three Malayalam packages to choose from. There's the "Malayalam" (50+ channels) package, the "Malayalam Asianet" (45+ channels) package, and the "Malayalam Gold" (60+ channels) package. You can choose to pay for your package monthly or annually.
Movie buffs will appreciate channels like Mazhavil Manorama and Surya Movies in the basic "Malayalam" package. "Malayalam Asianet," on the other hand, has the Asianet Movies channel, which is the first dedicated satellite TV channel for Malayalam movies. "Malayalam Gold" combines channels from both the basic "Malayalam" and "Malayalam Asianet" packages, so subscribers can watch movies from all three channels.
The Sling TV app is available on most smart devices. This means you can watch Malayalam movies from the comfort of your TV at home or from your smartphone on the train to work. Sling TV also allows you to replay your shows for up to eight days after they air.
You can test out Sling TV for 7 days.
YuppTV
YuppTV works like Netflix - all you need to do is buy a subscription, and you're set. You can install the YuppTV app on smart TVs and mobile devices, and begin watching your shows.
YuppTV has four different packages for the Malayalam language. They have the "Malayalam Super Saver Pack," the "Yupp Malayalam," "Yupp Malayalam Tamil," and the "Yupp Malayalam Hindi."
However, be warned - most of the movie channels, such as Mazhavil Manorama, Kairali TV, and Surya movies, are only from the "Yupp Malayalam" packages and above. If you're a movie buff, skip the super saver pack.
You can choose to subscribe to YuppTV monthly, every six months, or annually.
Like SlingTV, YuppTV has a "Catchup TV" feature, which allows you to catch up watching any show or program for up to 10 days.
However, one downside of YuppTV is that it only allows for one stream at a time. You can "unlock" more streams on different devices, but you'll have to pay an additional monthly fee for it.
Hotstar (US)
Like YuppTV and Netflix, Hotstar is a video streaming service that streams live sports, Indian TV shows, and movies. They have content in eight Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Unlike YuppTV, Hotstar doesn't have packages. You pay for a premium membership, which gives you access to all their content (which includes Malayalam movies). Some of the titles available include Sunday Holiday, Pulimurugan, Action Hero Biju, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and many others.
One good thing about Hotstar is that they allow you to download select movies and shows to your device, which means you can watch content on the go. You can also watch them from a browser on any PC/laptop.
MY INDIAN TV
There are several ways to watch content via MY INDIAN TV. You can use a set-top box to watch it on your TV (it supports the MAG Box), and it also works with Android TV, Apple and Android phones and tablets, and Kodi.
They have more than 20 packages to choose from, each with different combinations of channels. There's no contract, and you can choose to subscribe monthly or per 180/360 days.
They offer one Malayalam package, and you can choose to subscribe every 30, 90, 180, or 360 days. Under this package, they offer several movie channels, including Asianet Movies, Cinema TV, Rishtey Cineplex, Surya Movies, and many others.
Like Sling TV and YuppTV, MY INDIAN TV has a 7-day playback feature for their shows and movies.
They only allow one device per account, but if you have a MAG Box, you can use that with a web/Android/Kodi session at the same time.
BOTTOM LINE
Choosing a service which streams Malayalam movies online can be a challenge. To make the best choice, consider what the costs are and which channels you'd like to watch.
If you'd like reliability and good customer service, go with Sling TV. They're a popular service provider with reasonable prices. You can choose to pay month-to-month and cancel the service anytime. They're also flexible with their subscription plans, so you can choose which channels you want.
Other streaming providers are less popular, but they do offer Malayalam movie channels too. The channels offered are similar across the board, so have a look at the features and pricing. Once you've decided on what you can afford and what's important to you, it'll be easy to pick the best choice.
